HUT's Big Boy Room

HUT's room was the easiest for me to decorate. When we moved, I put the spare twin beds we had in our attic (they used to be our guest beds until we turned that room into HUT's nursery at our old house) in his room, used the Ikea book case that was in his nursery and gave him our previous bedroom furniture.

The bedding is a combo of Target (currently on clearance) and Ikea, along with some sheets from HomeGoods.

We put his changing pad on the bookshelves (I tied the safety straps around the bookcase which keeps it from slipping around), which we flipped sideways from how we had them in his nursery. I bought the storage boxes at Target as well and just hung up his wish tree from his nursery.

The rocking chair was mine as a baby. It had been at my parents' home, so when we officially moved in with my mom she brought it along with her and we put it in HUT's room. He also has a pillow from Dulces Suenos, like in Ellie's room.

The lamp was one that we repainted for his nursery and the letters are a mix of Anthropologie (the H) and some cut-outs that Kate from Kate Miller Events had gifted us way back when HUT was born.

The wall of books are actually the infamous Ikea shelves that are so rediculously inexpensive. The time out stool was a Christmas gift to HUT a couple of years ago and is now getting regular use (as in a couple of times daily).

This quilt was in his nursery and is made by the same woman (my mom's best friend) who did the small quilt of girls in Ellie's room. It was her mother that made the pink and green quilt that is the centerpiece of Ellie's room.

You can't see it in the pictures, but we also have this rug from Ikea on the floor for HUT to play with all of his cars. He doesn't really spend a lot of time in the room yet, aside from sleeping, but I know it will come in handy at some point. His bed also has these bed rails that fold up and down that we typically keep up at all times, save for taking pictures for the blog. :)

When we had the house painted, we opted for Sherwin Williams Olympus White for HUT's room, which is a borderline pale blue/grey color.

So, altogether, HUT's room cost less than $300 to put together, if even that. I think I've linked to most of the important pieces, but feel free to comment with any other questions!
