The Newsroom

We got back from Cali on Sunday night and I'm SO happy to be back in my own bed! It was a great time in California - save for some family drama - and the weather was perfect, but there's nothing like home at the end of the day. While I still have unpacking to do and some recap posts I want to put on here, I've been a bit distracted.

When we got back, the U wouldn't stop talking about this new show that someone had told him about on HBO that he'd been watching. So, after HUT went to bed on Sunday, we turned it on and I'm totally hooked.

From the major monologue in the first episode, I knew that this show was something special. The actors are amazing on this show and the writing is just superb. It's also fascinating to me that they use real life events and clips from other news sources on each episode. Not to mention a couple of love plots thrown in there as well.

Tonight we'll finish episode 8, 9 and the season finale. So now I'm hooked on two completely different HBO series - Girls and The Newsroom. Any other recs on HBO series that we're missing out on?

  1. Haha, yup! Love both of these and just posted about it! I'm sad the newsroom is over, but I still have about half a season of girls to get through.

  3. It's not on HBO but Breaking Bad on AMC is awesome. It's in its final season this year.

  4. Veep is really funny. Treme is great and is just about to start their 3rd season, but can be a little slow and of course a little depressing. Boardwalk Empire is also about to start and is amazing but dark. And if you haven't seen GOT you really should check out the 1st episode at least. I think people either love or hate that show- I read the books but lots of people who love it said they didn't so it could go either way.
