Christmas Lights in Deerfield

I feel like it wouldn't be me if I didn't acknowledge the tragedy that took place last week. My heart is broken for everyone that has been affected by the awful shootings last week in Newtown. And by everyone, I mean the families, friends and even strangers that now live in fear of what could happen to their children. I'm hugging HUT a bit tighter and definitely counting my blessings that I have him to hold near to me everyday. Even through the difficult days and tantrums - last week just put everything into another perspective.

Making memories with HUT has now become even more important to me after last week, so a couple of nights ago we loaded up in our jammies in the car, drove out to Plano, grabbed some dinner at Central Market (and ate it in our car while watching Rudolph), grabbed a hot chocolate and headed out to Deerfield in Plano to check out the Christmas lights.

I originally heard about Deerfield thanks to the T-Shirt Mama's blog, and then saw a couple of people on my Facebook feed post about it, so we decided to give it a go. It did not disappoint!

Here are some pics...

And I got some funny video of HUT - he was so excited that he was screaming and the U couldn't tell if he was pissed or excited... it was excitement for sure (except for when I tried to video him instead of the lights)!

This is definitely going to be an annual tradition - but next year we might spend the extra money and splurge on the carriage ride - it looked like so much fun and I'm sure we missed half of this neighborhood, it was so big.

  3. We don't have LOs yet, but Deerfield is totally on my annual list of Christmas things to do! They do something different every year. The Gordon family house has the dancing lights to music, and is always fun and exciting to watch!! Did y'all get to see it?
