Those little things that I mention? They are the bane of my existence and the worst absolute part of the move. The U took over big time yesterday and went back and forth all day collecting random things left behind so that I could stay home, put things together and take it a little easy. Moving at 6 months pregnant is no joke, I'm not sure how one even does this later on in their pregnancy!
Today is going to be the hardest part of it all - my mom is going to have things moved from her house into this new one. It's bittersweet to be so excited for this new home and chapter in our lives, while a huge one, my parents' marriage, seems to be ending. I expect some tears today and lots of emotions as we sort through things and have items moved from my dad's home.
Separation of your parents sucks, period. Do I wish that they'd get back together? All of the time. I'm very fortunate that I've been able to keep good relationships with both my mom and dad during this time, and I hope that that continues. I love them both and want the best for them, but after 48 years of marriage, three children, 3 (and a half) grandkids and the majority of their lives together, I cannot even fathom what they must be going through.
To end this on a bit of a brighter note, I'm posting some Instagram photos of what we've been up to the past few days:
I've started assembling HUT's big boy room (feel free to comment with tips to actually get him to sleep in that twin bed of his)...
The U was in charge of the electronics in this house - mainly, getting the tv above the fireplace. For the majority of an entire day, this is what our family room looked like...
The after turned out quite nice though...
The plan for the rugs that I mentioned here turned out great - we really love the layered look and cannot wait to see what it looks like with our new furniture...
Once we finally got furniture moved in (we are using our family room furniture for now until the new stuff arrives), HUT took no time at all to relax...
And several trips to Ikea have been made for kids' rooms and organization items. Too bad this place is so damn far away from us because my list for another trip is already growing again!
By the way, the fact that this place has family bathrooms and an area for HUT to sit and eat with other kiddos at a table his size with cartoons playing? Yeah, it's worth the drive.

I moved at 37 weeks pregnant in August. Suuuucked!
