Jute Rug Find

The new family room in our house is going to be much larger than what we've been living in for the past five years. So, to accomodate, we've had to order new furniture, rugs, etc. for the room. My mom and I have been working together to come up with a color scheme and furniture/details that we both agree on and will feel comfortable in. That's part of the deal when you sign up to live with your family member.

We decided on most of the items, which I'll share later, but one thing I wanted to pass along was the amazing deal that I found online for a jute rug. We are going to do a huge jute rug with a smaller, softer wool rug on top of it. I searched around online for a 9x12 rug for a reasonable price that would be available sooner, rather than later.

I was about to give up when I found this great article on Pure Style Home about natural fiber rugs. Per her recommendation, I went to Natural Area Rugs to search for a jute rug. And, as per my online shopping norm, I also googled for promo codes and found one for 25% off your order and free shipping on Retail Me Not.

So, soon we will have this beauty in our family room:

Total we paid $299.25 for the 9x12 rug. I'll take that as a small victory in my rug hunt. Most of the other comparable rugs that I found online were for about $399 or higher, plus shipping. I did find another pretty great deal at World Market (they also usually have a discount promo running + you can go through Ebates to get further cash back), but it was on backorder for 3-4 weeks, so I kept hunting. And now I'm really glad that I did!
