But that's because he was ready to leave, not to stay home!
I must admit, unlike most moms who get really emotional about their first child going to school for the first time, I was actually excited. HUT needs this. He needs the interaction with other children. The discipline that the teachers can provide. The activities.
He threw a major fit when we got there because we were early, the doors weren't open yet and he wanted to go in. Once he was let in, though, he didn't even bother with me and ran straight into the room. Bubble machine going and cars lined up? That's HUT's version of heaven these days...
If our visit to the classroom last week was any indication (when he didn't throw a fit to go in, but threw a huge one when we left), then hopefully he will love it as much as I'm excited to see him learn and grow in his new environment.
Since it's only two days a week for about five hours, this might be another reason why it's easier for me to let him go.
Although he's only 20 months, he sure is becoming a big boy. I love this kiddo so much, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like with two!

His little Saucony's are killing me!! So cute.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are hilarious! It sounds like this is going to be a great thing for both of you. Go HUT!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photos. What a great idea! I can't believe he's old enough for school. So adorable. And you look great too, momma!
