Friday Rambles

This week has totally kicked me in the butt - we have some major changes going on around here (will fill you in next week, promise) so I haven't really had time to blog, plus everything crazy and interesting in my life I have to hold off on sharing for another week.

Luckily my stomach bug was just a 24 hour thing, but I'm pretty sure I hadn't been feeling well for almost a week. Because once Tuesday hit, it's like I was a whole new person - my energy came back, I felt great, etc. Thank God!

One major thing happened this week that I can share:

HUT MADE IT THROUGH TWO WHOLE DAYS AT SCHOOL!

Big, big news over here. I'd been getting used to doing the "walk of shame" to pick up my inconsolable child every day before naptime, but on Tuesday I actually had to call the school to double check what time to pick him up because I hadn't ever had him stay an entire day before! They said that his personality is really starting to show and, while I fully expect that there will still be hard days here and there, we made it through a full week, so we know that HUT can do it!

He really seems to be thriving in his new environment - and after three weeks he is already so much more of a jabberbox. It's nuts.

On another note, since I'm pregnant and in a wedding in December I justified two splurges for myself. My reasoning?

I won't be spending money on Fall/Winter clothes or coats this year, so why not splurge on shoes? These beauties will be in my closet soon, and my shoe budget is officially cutoff for, oh, I don't know, probably a year...

I know, I know. I'm terrible. But at least I can admit that I have issues with shopping!

We also nailed down a photographer in California for our family portraits in December, and a newborn photographer for Ellie come January. All within or below what we budgets - so that excites me even more!
